What you’ll need
To make this chocolate bark, you can use anything really. As long as you have a chocolate base you can add any combination of dried fruit, nuts, seeds or toppings. I used dark chocolate because we always have a block of dark chocolate at home. I really enjoy it and it’s a bonus that it is also great for baking! My favourite is the Whittakers 72% cocoa Dark Ghana chocolate but you could use ANY chocolate you like. I also added raw almonds, cranberries and As long as you have a chocolate base you can add any combination of dried fruit, nuts, seeds or toppings.
Almond and Cranberry Chocolate Bark
Ingredients
- 250 grams dark chocolate broken into small pieces
- ¼ cup raw almonds roughly chopped
- ¼ cup coconut chips
- ¼ tsp salt
Instructions
- Line a large baking tray with baking paper
- Melt the dark chocolate by making a double boiler with a saucepan and bowl. You can do this by adding a bit of water into a saucepan and brining it almost to a boil. Once the water is hot, add the bowl on top of it and put the dark chocolate in the bowl. Always melt over very low heat – do not boil the water and don't let any water get into the chocolate.
- Using a spatula, spread chocolate evenly over the centre of the baking sheet. Aim for about 0.5 cm thickness.
- Sprinkle the nuts, dried fruit and coconut chips over the chocolate. As always, you can use different toppings such as hazelnuts, pistachios and other dried fruit. Lastly add some salt and put the tray into a fridge. Let it set for 15-20 minutes.
